and always to the right will be a monthly curated playlist :)
this album has mentions of suicide & drug use so if you're sensitive to these topics, this might not be the best for you, but I'm here for you and things will be okay
Hypochondriac is just an album full of emotion. it's not subtle and brakence just lays it all out there for the listener to experience. its cathartic, loud, and noisy blending glitch-pop sounds and textures w/ emo-midwest guitar riffs i could only dream of playing. Each song feeling meticulously crafted with sonic threads stitching together the songs of the album creating a totally immersive album from start to finish.
i called the music of Hypochondriac cathartic, loud, and noisy, and those same feelings carry on in the emotions being conveyed through the lyrics and their performance. singing, crying, and screaming can all be found coming out of the mouth of brakence and its just all so beautiful and impactful.
i would have never been able to create an album like this, yes i don't know a thing about writing/recording music or glitch-pop or playing guitar, but that's not why i can't make an album like Hypochondriac. its because i'm not loud, i'm not noisy, i keep my feelings close to my chest and i do everything to stay calm and reserved, but this album says everything i feel in a way i never could dream of.
my feelings are messy, noisy, loud, and yet desipite that they're all threaded together and when listened to all at once it creates a story of who i am and what i'm feeling. this is why Hypochondriac affects me so strongly. not only are all the songs ear worms and immersive, its deeply personal to me and puts into words what i hold back from. so yeah listen to it, its pretty good.
and to help supplement the gap in danganronpa content i have been watching the danganronpa retrospectives by NezumiVA
i really love these video essays because Marcie does a really good job of not only explaining the story of the games, but she really goes in depth about production of the games and the VA's
my favorite part of these series of video essays is that Marcie does a wonderful job of breaking down character motivations, actions, and relationships and how sometimes the writers may stray from the characterization the characters already have.
